Freeater Launches MVP iOS App at The Allergy and From Show
At the end of June, Freeater took an exciting step forward by officially launching our MVP iOS app at the Allergy & Free From Show at Olympia London. This two-day event is one of the UK’s biggest gatherings for people living with allergies, intolerances, and special dietary requirements, so it felt like the perfect place to introduce Freeater to the world. The show attracted around 12,000 visitors, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with curiosity, innovation, and community spirit. Even though London was experiencing a heatwave, nothing could dampen the energy inside Olympia. For us, it was a milestone moment: the first time we got to show Freeater in action, face-to-face, with the people who matter most, the community we’re building this for.
Meeting people, hearing stories, and sharing Freeater
One of the most rewarding parts of the event was meeting so many attendees who were eager to learn about Freeater. From individuals living with restrictions to families managing allergies together, people came to our stand to try out the app, share their experiences, and tell us what they’d love to see in future versions. We had countless conversations that reminded us why Freeater exists, to make food and eating out more inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone. Hearing first-hand about the challenges people face and how Freeater could help was both humbling and motivating. Many attendees also signed up to our Android waiting list, showing there’s a real appetite for Freeater across platforms. That enthusiasm reassured us that we’re on the right track, and it gave us invaluable insights to shape the next stages of development.
Live demos and instant feedback
A highlight for our team was being able to demonstrate the app live. Showing visitors exactly how Freeater works, from navigating features to discovering how it can support their daily lives, created a buzz around our stand. The instant feedback we received was priceless, offering fresh perspectives on what people found most useful and where they wanted to see improvements.
Connecting with the wider community
The Allergy & Free From Show wasn’t just about showcasing products, it was also about bringing people together. We connected with incredible charities, businesses, and innovators who are all working towards a more inclusive and supportive future. The evening reception gave us the chance to have deeper conversations with like-minded organisations, sparking ideas for potential partnerships and collaborations down the line.
A milestone moment for Freeater
For us, launching our MVP iOS app at such a prestigious event wasn’t just a product launch, it was a celebration of how far Freeater has come and a reminder of the journey ahead. The excitement from visitors, the encouragement from peers, and the thoughtful feedback we gathered have all helped us sharpen our vision for the future. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who stopped by our stand, joined our waiting list, shared their stories, or simply took the time to learn about what Freeater is trying to achieve. The warmth, honesty, and passion of this community made the launch weekend unforgettable. This is just the beginning. Freeater is committed to continuing to build momentum, listen to our users, and create solutions that resonate with real people’s needs. The journey doesn’t stop here, and we can’t wait to share what’s next.
