The Allergy & Free From Show 2026: A Huge Weekend for Freeater

Had such an amazing weekend at the Allergy & Free From Show 💚 Last year, we were demoing our beta app. This year, we returned, having officially launched Freeater on iOS and Android. The best part was meeting so many people from the community, hearing your stories, seeing families connect with what we’re building, and watching people download the app live at the stand. From our interactive map to the children’s activities and app demos, the energy across the weekend was incredible. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported the mission to help people eat with confidence.

What a weekend. 💚

This year’s Allergy & Free From Show at the NEC Birmingham was a huge milestone for Freeater and a moment we will never forget.

Last year, we attended the show with a live beta demo and lots of ideas. We spent the following months listening carefully to feedback from the community and continuing to build a platform designed to help people with food allergies and dietary needs eat with confidence.

This year, we returned having officially launched on both iOS and Android.

Seeing people download the app live at the stand, hearing families share their experiences, and watching the community connect with what we are building was incredibly special.

Amazing team

Building More Than an App

One of the most meaningful parts of the weekend was hearing how many people finally felt understood.

For millions of people, eating out still comes with anxiety, uncertainty, and exclusion. Many families spend hours researching menus, calling venues, or avoiding eating out altogether because they do not feel confident enough in the information available.

That is exactly why Freeater exists.

Throughout the weekend, we demonstrated how the app helps people discover places they can eat more confidently through personalised dietary profiles, community insight, and features designed to help groups find somewhere everyone can eat together.

A Stand Full of Conversations

Our stand became much more than just a place to demo the app.

Visitors pinned locations on our interactive map showing where they wished there were more inclusive eateries. Families shared personal stories. Children got involved with activities and explored our new children’s book project, Alex and the Feel Good Foods.

The energy across the weekend was incredible and it was amazing to see so many conversations happening around food inclusion, awareness, and confidence.

A Full Circle Moment

One of the most special parts of the weekend was having Kate’s dad there supporting the stand.

His experiences navigating food allergies helped inspire the creation of Freeater in the first place, making the event feel like a real full-circle moment. From calling 15 restaurants just to find one suitable place to eat, to now helping thousands of people discover options more confidently through technology and community, it has been an emotional journey.

Thank You

To everyone who stopped by the stand, downloaded the app, shared your stories, supported the mission, or simply came to say hello, thank you.

The weekend reminded us exactly why we started this journey.

Together, we eat with confidence. 💚
