Our Story

Everyone deserves a place at the table.

Freeater was created to make eating out and shopping with dietary needs easier, more inclusive and a little less complicated.

It started with one family meal.

Food and dietary needs have always been personal to me. My family navigates gluten-free, vegetarian, lactose-free and coeliac needs, so I’ve seen how much extra planning food can involve. Before my graduation, my dad contacted 15 restaurants to find somewhere that could cater for him.

Only one said yes. When we arrived, there was paperwork to sign before he could even sit down.

For millions navigating food allergies, coeliac disease and dietary needs, that research and uncertainty is part of everyday life.It left me asking: why should finding somewhere to eat be this difficult?

Our story wasn't the only one.

Before building Freeater, we listened to people navigating food allergies, coeliac disease and other dietary needs to understand what they really needed.

Founder and CEO

Freeater began by wanting to make a difference to my family and friends. I grew up vegetarian myself. Largely inspired by seeing the daily struggles of my dad (gluten intolerant and vegetarian), (pictured above). Along with my grandma (lactose intolerant), uncle (coeliac) and friends (severe food allergies). I'm passionate about helping everyone to be able to eat with more confidence at the table. Whatever their dietary profile.

Former founder of ‘Fine Art Kate’ with international clients and exhibited in the Wales Contemporary. Studied at both Cambridge & Loughborough Uni, BArch (Hons) DPS, MSt (Cam) and MSc Management (Distinction).

I have always felt that food should bring comfort and connection. Living with allergies or dietary needs often means second-guessing every bite, and I believe no one should have to live with that constant worry. Joining Freeater drives my passion to be part of creating a food culture where everyone can enjoy eating with confidence.

Graduated with a BSc in Nutrition and Medical Sciences from UCL, with a strong interest in dietary management of allergies and food intolerances.

We're only getting started.

We're building towards a world where dietary needs don't decide whether someone can say yes to the meal, the celebration, the trip or the spontaneous coffee.
From eating out to everyday shopping, we're continuing to build tools that give people more information, confidence and choice, while helping businesses better support the communities they serve.
More confidence.

More choice.

More inclusion.
